" For me, singing is the most natural thing in the world." - Stella McCartney
Bel Canto has fully trained singing teachers who teach most genres. Singing lessons are generally one on one, but group lessons (duos or trios) are welcome.
Singers are taught many different techniques including how to enhance or extend their vocal range, give them the ability to sing for much longer periods without getting a sore throat, improve pitch and vocal phrasing, plus learn the theory of the music which they are singing.
Many vocalists from Bel Canto have gone on to become students at the Conservatorium of Music and other musical institutions, Songleaders on Praise & Worship Teams, won awards in national competitions, gone to Tamworth and even been winners in the MusicOz Awards.
Performance opportunities for singing students include Students Concerts, Eisteddfods, AMEB examinations, Community and Charity Events … all places where students can sharpen their skills and grow in confidence.
AMEB examinations are held annually in Rockhampton. All grades are prepared including Classical, Singing for Leisure and Contemporary Performer syllabuses. AMEB examinations are often held in the Performance Room at Bel Canto with an average of 70 Bel Canto singing students sitting exams.
